Park & Rec Coordinator

The City is proud to introduce to our community, the new Park & Rec Coordinator, Madison Martinez! Madison is an Othello native being born and raised in Othello, who at a very young age developed a passion for sports. Madison started playing Softball when she was 7 years old and became the first division one softball player directly after graduating from Othello High School. After graduation, Madison attended Campbell University on a 100% athletic scholarship. She finished her education at Bellevue College with a Public Relations Communication degree in 2018. When she returned to Othello, Madison was hired at the Othello School District as a Special Education Paraprofessional where she learned a lot about the needs of all students. With that in mind, Madison has expressed her goal to provide more inclusion for students with disabilities in our parks and programs and giving them the best opportunity to engage and have fun with their peers. In the afternoons, Madison coached volleyball and drill team at OHS and coached softball at Royal City High School. Madison wants to bring our community closer together with sports and activities throughout the City. We are happy and excited to have Madison onboard and on our team!
