NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Othello City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 6:30 pm at City Hall Council Chambers located at 500 E Main Street, Othello, WA. Due to restrictions on public gatherings during the COVID-19 emergency, the hearing will be available via GoToMeeting.

The purpose of this public hearing is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and receive comment on proposed activities, particularly from lower income persons residing in the City of Othello.

Through CDBG, up to $900,000 for construction and up to $30,000 for planning may be available to the City of Othello on a statewide competitive basis to fund public facility, community facility, economic development, planning and affordable housing projects that principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons.

An outline of the proposed projects will be available for review by email request to tmorelos@othellowa.gov beginning May 7, 2021. Comments may also be submitted in writing to the City of Othello, until Monday May 20, 2021.

The Othello Council Chambers is handicap accessible and the City can reasonably accommodate special needs requests. A Spanish-speaking interpreter will be available to accommodate non-English speakers. Please contact City Hall at (509) 488-5686 at least 24-hours in advance of the meeting if reasonable accommodations are needed. All public hearings are open to the public and our citizens are encouraged to attend.
