Othello’s newest recreation facility features a  6,000 sq. ft. skate park that is a functional yet aesthetically pleasing facility comprised of numerous amenities including a double stair set, 7.5’ bowl, bank ramp, grind rail, and most notably, “Harvest Gold” colored concrete. Following approval of the park’s final design in January 2015, the Othello City Council approved a vote to formally name the future skate park the Dan Dever Memorial Skate Park, in honor of the late City of Othello Councilman who spearheaded the project over five years ago and advocated the need for and supported the development of a public skate park in Othello until his passing in May of 2014.

Othello’s largest park hosts the majority of the city’s athletic events.  In addition to 4 picnic shelters, this is the home of the Lions Park Athletic Complex and the Dan Dever Memorial Skate Park.  This park features a paved walk path, arboretum, street hockey rink, a handball wall, a large playground area with several types of equipment for a variety of ages, 4 lighted tennis courts, 2 full sized lighted basketball courts, and 3 restroom facilities

Lions Park Athletic Complex (LPAC)

LPAC is home to 4 lighted baseball/softball fields with concession stand and 1 lighted soccer field.  This facility is perfect for weekend tournaments, league play or practices.  Ball fields can be set up for baselines at 60’, 65’, and 80’, temporary pitching mounds and pitching rubbers can be moved suit any need.  Outfield fences measure near 300’. LPAC is available to rent for a variety of sporting needs (one time use or Tournament/League Rental )  Other amenities include concession stand covered bleachers, and a restroom . This complex is open from April-October.

The facility features 7,275 square feet of water recreation, zero-depth wading pool with water toys, a 1,100 square foot lazy river, a 155-foot self-contained slide, and 3’-9’ lap pool, bath house with separate family/handicapped accessible bathhouse.  The pool’s dual-sided concession stand is open to both the community pool and the general public in the park.   Our pool is open daily from June-August.  Please review our facility rules for more detailed information.

This is a 1.0-acre site with trees and grass, utilized for passive recreational pursuits, and is the City’s oldest park (dating back to 1912).  This park features the City’s tie to aircraft via a T-33 jet honoring the City’s relationship to a former nearby air base.  Its park tables and benches are augmented by a rest room, a lovely gazebo, and handicapped parking.
