In 1994, the City contracted with Mid Columbia Library District (MCL). MCL operates a regional library system with well over 500,000 volumes of material available by access of computer and CD-ROM networks for library patrons throughout the Columbia Basin. The Othello Branch has 35,000 volumes of material available for its patrons, with access to the entire MCL catalog of materials. MCL provides library materials, staff, programs and services. Recent upgrades include remodeling of the children's area, and an area for laptops that includes a new wall mural.

In 2001, the City of Othello entered into an inter-local agreement with Adams County Rural Library District No.1. The Library District collects property taxes to fund library services. The ACRLD #1 maintains the current contract with MCL to operate the library services.
